Chief Executive Officer
Wes has over 30 years of senior housing leadership experience. Prior to moving to middle Tennessee in 2013, he co-founded and was Vice President of Heritage Senior Living, LLC, which owns and manages 16 properties in the Northeast. Under his leadership, all properties achieved high occupancy levels. Wes’ high standards of operational excellence, along with a focus on sales and marketing, equals high occupancy and maximized profits. Traditions’ expectation for occupancy is 100%.
Wes is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Health Care Management. He is also honored to have been elected President of the South Central Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s Association, which serves 18 counties in PA.
Chief Investment Officer
Blanding has more than 10 years of real estate investment management experience ranging across multiple product types and geographies. Formerly, he was a Director of Real Assets for Arlington Family Offices. In his role, Blanding was responsible for investment identification, due diligence and portfolio monitoring with a focus on real estate for the $2 billion multi-family office. Prior to Arlington, he was an Associate at Harbert Management Corp. in their US Real Estate group where he worked from 2005-2011.
Blanding attended Southern Methodist University and received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance and History from the University of Tennessee.
Chief Marketing Officer
Julie is a highly skilled and experienced sales and marketing expert in seniors housing. Julie and the Traditions leadership team are focused on results. Using proven sales and marketing systems combined with strategic coaching focused on skills, she is always working toward the goals of 100% occupancy and resident satisfaction of “10.”
Julie has worked with companies across the country and has established a track record for driving occupancy and employee and resident retention. She has also been highly successful in coaching at all levels, including executive, sales and marketing teams, management, and regional and divisional directors.
She has considerable experience as a public speaker and has conducted hundreds of educational sessions, trainings and seminars, including state and national industry associations.
Julie earned a B.S. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and has pursued graduate-level study in counseling. Her ground-level experience in seniors housing as a sales professional, professional coach, trainer, and strategist gives Julie insight and passion into helping others reach their professional and personal goals.
June is the Controller for Traditions Senior Living, LLC. She is an experienced attorney with more than 20 years of expertise in corporate law, contracts and business arrangements, taxation (state and federal), litigation, commercial lending and commercial real estate, and health care law and compliance. In addition, she has extensive experience in development and management of commercial real estate, including medical office and multi-family. June is actively involved as a pro-bono volunteer for Davidson County, Tennessee Legal Aid Society.
Regional Director of Operations
With over 20 years of operational and marketing experience in healthcare, Angela brings a wealth of knowledge to the Traditions Operations and Training team. Her unique understanding and experience in independent, assisted and skilled settings allows Angela to deliver on her passion for serving families, team members and stake holders with respect, excellence and care. She is a Certified Assisted Living Director and Certified Dementia Practitioner and has served in leadership positions including Community Relations Director, Executive Director and Divisional Director with Extendicare, Bickford Senior Living, and Mansions Senior Living prior to joining the Traditions team. Angela’s operational skills include new operation start up, campus renovation, and established community rebranding. Her results-driven training focuses on high-impact individual and team key performance indicators which allow companies to invest in their most important asset – their people.
Regional Director of Operations
Tom Johnsrud began his career as a Long-term Care Administrator, leading retirement and head-injury rehabilitation communities in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Illinois. He received his MBA at Benedictine University during his tenure with Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, where he lead a variety of post-acute, acute and outpatient programs and clinics. Mr. Johnsrud followed that with leadership positions with Joint Commission Resources and The Joint Commission, working with domestic and international consulting, as well as domestic surveys. He held Assistant Executive Director positions with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and with Senior Star. He recently served as the Executive Director of a 346-unit retirement community in Romeoville, Illinois, providing service to independent and assisted residents and those requiring memory support.
An avid runner, Tom has run several marathons, including twice in the Boston Marathon. He and his wife Jennifer have two children: Peter, who attends Washington University in St. Louis; and Amanda, a recent high school graduate.
